Detach any wires coming from the valve so you can remove it completely. Clean the valve by soaking it in gasoline. Move the flap in the valve while it's soaking, to ensure the gasoline reaches inside it.
Jun 05, 2010 · Its common for the Idle Air Control Valve to go bad on mustangs. You can get a new one for $50-$90. Don't go to the dealer ship, they will charge you like $160 and most auto stores can order one for you. I've had to replace 3 of them on my mustang. This might be the same problem you are having. Apr 18, 2008 · to set the idle speed theres a small twist bolt in back of the fuel rail, just between the 1 and 2 ports on the intake manifold. it shows exactly where in the Chilton repair manual. basically take a big phillips head screw driver and turn it left for low and right for high idle.
